About Mimi's Crafts

WHAT WE OFFER

Mimi’s Crafts is a women-owned working pottery studio in Satellite Beach offering paint your own pottery, canvas painting, glass painting, and clay hand-building. Walk-ins are always welcome for groups of five or fewer, and we also host camps, parties, workshops, and private events. We are happy to extend our experience and talents for custom work and ceramic repairs as well.

We have been proudly serving Brevard County, Florida in Satellite Beach since 1995! We are a part of the fabric of the community, and routinely partner with our local schools, military bases, and charities in making art available to everyone.

STUDIO OWNER

STUDIO MANAGER

Andee Myatt has been our studio owner since 2023, and lovingly calls the studio her "happy place." She loves slip casting, teaching, and learning about new glaze techniques. Andee has never met a stranger, either human or pet. Andee became a Nonna in 2025 and is completely obsessed with her grandbaby. She is a former teacher, executive trainer, and voracious reader.

STUDIO MANAGER

Dale, our Studio Manager, brings extensive experience and a wealth of artistic talent to Mimi's Crafts. Dale has been the Studio Manager since 2026, and her purple hair might actually be the smallest display of her passion for creating art in every part of her life. Her favorite title aside from Studio Manager is Auntie Dale, and she is never too busy to talk about her kiddos or pups.

Do you require reservations?

No, but we recommend a call or email for parties of six or more just so we can move tables and be ready for you when you arrive. Also, if you're celebrating something, we would love to know ahead of time!

What are your pottery prices and what can I expect?

We have over 500 pieces in stock that start at $10 and go up to $250. About 75% of the pieces are made in-house by the studio owner and manager. The average customer spends about 90 minutes painting a PYOP piece and spends about $30, depending on the size of the piece chosen. The price on each piece includes the glazing and firing of the piece. The firing process takes between 5-7 days, and fast fire options are available.

Are kids welcome?

Absolutely! We are a family-friendly studio, and we have something for everyone. The only exception would be if we are hosting an "adults only" event, which you can check for on the "Events" tab.

Do you honor Step Up for Students Scholarships?

Absolutely! We love being a part of your students' educational journey. Stop by or call Andee with specific questions.

Do I have to be a member of the studio to come in?

Nope. We do have a membership option, but it is just that - optional!

What are the advantages to studio membership?

For just $35 per month, members receive:

15% off all PYOP purchases under $50, 10% off pieces $51+
1 free class during the membership period valued up to $45 (RSVP required)
Unlimited studio visits no matter the price of the piece
2 free firings for 2 outside pieces per month
1 free 10-12 oz PYOP pottery mug, glazing and firing (depending on availability) when signing up

The logistics:
6 month membership is required, and auto-renews as needed
Automatically billed the 15th of each month to your credit card for convenience

How many times can I come in to paint my piece?

All guests are welcome to return to the studio to complete their pottery pieces if they do not finish during their first visit. We are happy to provide a box so you can take your piece home until you’re ready to return.

You may come back as many times as needed to finish your project. For each $10 spent, you receive one complimentary studio visit. For example, if your piece costs $30, you may return to the studio for a total of three visits included in the purchase price.

If additional visits are required beyond those included, a $7 studio fee will apply per visit. This fee helps offset the cost of supplies and materials while keeping our pottery prices competitive.

Once a piece leaves our studio, Mimi’s Crafts is not responsible for any breakage, cracking, or other unfavorable results. Ceramic pieces are fragile, and some imperfections or damage may not become visible until after the firing process.

Visits are tracked using your firing ticket. If your firing ticket is lost, any remaining visits will be considered expired. Please see a team member with any questions.

Information about Elements and Jungle Gems Glazes

Jungle Gems and Elements Glazes are considered food-safe glazes. However, improper cleaning of pottery with these glazes, highly acidic food or drinks, cutlery scratches, or excessive heat can degrade the surfaces of these pieces, making them open to mold, mildew, and bacteria. These pieces should be hand-washed and inspected often. Please note that this product/service is encouraged with awareness of its potential risks. We recommend reviewing all guidelines and instructions for the safest experience. Please see an artist with any questions!

What light source should I use with my light up items?

We recommend all items be used with battery-operated LED votives. Using an open-flame candle with these products may result in fire or injury. If you choose to use an open-flame candle, read the safety instructions on the candle packaging. Do not burn unattended. Keep away from flammable objects, children, and pets.

Why is it so important that we stay home if we are sick or have recently been exposed to illness?

While we never want to turn someone away from our small business, our studio owner and several customers are immunocompromised. This means we have a weakened immune system and difficulty fighting infections. Please help us keep our studio a safe place for anyone who struggles with these conditions.

What are the safety and liability guidelines for the studio?

At Mimi’s Crafts, your safety and enjoyment are our top priorities. We want you to relax, have fun, and explore your creativity while understanding the shared responsibilities that keep our studio a safe space for all.

General Safety Information:

Children under 14 must be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult unless attending a supervised class or camp.
Closed-toe shoes with socks are required when working with clay, the kick wheel, or as requested for special events like camps.
No food or drink is allowed near kilns, pottery wheels, or glazes. You are, however, welcome to have food and drink at your tables while painting.
Please follow all posted instructions and guidance from Mimi’s Crafts staff.

Materials and Tools

Use only the tools, glazes, and materials provided by Mimi’s Crafts.
Please handle all tools with care and return them after use.
Wear aprons or protective clothing to avoid stains from clay, glaze, or paint.

Liability Waiver

By participating in any activity at Mimi’s Crafts, you:

Acknowledge the inherent risks of working with clay, paints, glazes, tools, and other art materials.
Release Mimi’s Crafts, its owners, and staff from liability for personal injury, property damage, or loss resulting from participation.
Agree to follow all safety instructions provided verbally or in writing by Mimi’s Crafts staff.

Allergens

If you or your child are feeling unwell, please reschedule your visit or class.
We reserve the right to reschedule participants who arrive showing signs of illness.
Some materials used in the studio may contain allergens—please notify us in advance of any allergies or sensitivities.

Photography Consent

Mimi’s Crafts may take photos of classes, events, and artwork for marketing purposes.
If you prefer not to be photographed, please notify our staff before your session begins.

Lost or Unclaimed Items

Artwork not picked up within 30 days of completion may be donated or discarded.
Personal belongings left behind will be held for 7 days before being donated.
